Ways to kill New Year's Hangover
It's a familiar feeling... waves of nausea, a heavy head, sickness, raging thirst, over sensitivity to light and noise? Yes, it's the dreaded hangover! You may or may not remember what you did last night, but you will remember how horrid you felt the next morning. That's the thing about hangovers, they're equally painful each time and only get worse with age.
1. Go Bananas:
It's common knowledge that bananas help restore the body's potassium levels and eggs provide protein that quickly helps to replenish the body with vitamin B. It's the easiest way to tackle a hangover.
2. Water
juice and other liquids: If you've been binge drinking then it's likely that you'll be dehydrated. So wake up and drink as much water as possible to flush out all toxins and hydrate your body back to health.
3. Coffee
You may not be able to stand the smell of coffee first thing in the morning (or afternoon in this case) but if you're a regular coffee drinker, it's worth having a small amount so you're not risking having a caffeine withdrawal headache on top of your hangover. Don't over-do it though as a large amount can cause your body to lose water quickly and also make you break out in sweats.
4. Ibuprofen
It is believed to be the most effective in easing hangover pain (but make sure you eat something before.) Aspirin helps relieve a headache, but it can also make you feel more sick if you've got a sensitive stomach. In the ideal situation, it's always best to take an ibuprofen with a glass of water before you go to sleep.
5. MOST IMPORTANTLY..REST
If you had big plans for today, CANCEL. If you're already feeling shitty, going out is only going to make you feel worse. Resting is so important when you're hungover. Trust me, your body will thank you.
And if you've managed to make it to the end of this piece, thank you. I know how difficult that must have been to read.
